SCULPTURE IN THE VALLEY

​Sculpture in the Valley is part of the not-for-profit organisation Arts in the Valley also known as the Kangaroo Valley Arts Festival. Sculpture in the Valley presents a biennial exhibition of inspiring sculptural works set in the beautiful escarpment surrounds of Kangaroo Valley. The exhibition offers an intimate rural setting and expansive valley views for outdoor sculpture and professional exhibition space for indoor sculpture works.

MUSHROOM FORAGING TOURS
Saturday and Sunday’s during the
Autumn 2022 season

​Learn about local mushroom species – Slippery Jacks and Saffron Milk Caps – and receive our take home guide. After you harvest your mushrooms enjoy a cook up in the forest where you learn how to cook as well as taste our pine mushroom species with fresh local sour dough, make new friends, warm up with piping hot coffee and this year we are adding in cool climate wine tastings as well to showcase some of the great local pinots in our region. Its a wonderful day out.

THE KANGAROO VALLEY CRAFT BEER & BBQ FESTIVAL
September 17 & 18, 2022

Held in the grounds of the region’s leading hotel The Friendly Inn, the KVBBQ Festival 2021 features dozens of craft beer breweries, top of the line barbecue caterers, live music, and a host of all-ages activities from piglet racing to helicopter rides.

The ever-popular piglet races take place on both days allowing all festival goers to place their bets on the cute little critters which will be wearing their different coloured vests in any of the seven heats per day.

HIGHLAND VALLEY SPRING FORAGE
October 22 & 23, 2022

After three successful years, they are bringing back the Highland Valley Forage to Kangaroo Valley in Autumn 2022 to tell the story, through food and wine, of how the Southern Highlands, Shoalhaven and Coast South of Sydney are connected.

By tapping into the culinary skills of local gastronomic artisans, they can offer a 10-course degustation lunch like no other. It is a spectacular day of food, wine and nature.  The Forage is a degustation meal enjoyed as you stroll leisurely along on a flat, beginners walk and take in the natural beauty of Morton National Park when the spring wildflowers are in bloom.

KANGAROO VALLEY FOLK FESTIVAL
October 15 – 17, 2022

A friendly celebration of folk music, dancing, poetry, art and craft in Australia’s most beautiful valley. Kangaroo Valley Folk Festival has an array of Australian and international folk performers. The program includes musicians, buskers, dancers, poets, workshops, folk dances, blackboard venues and special school concerts.

WANDER THE WINGECARRIBEE
April 1 and 2, 2023

​Wander the Wingecarribee, is a heritage food and wine trail through Berrima showcasing not only current local produce but a culinary journey through the timeline of the village. We want to immerse guests in the culture that has shaped this mainland Georgian village by bringing to life the stories of past inhabitants, old and new ideas, customs, and social behaviour with a huge focus on food and history. With the ongoing covid situation we have decided to rest this event in 2022 and come back next year, stronger than ever.

KANGAROO VALLEY SHOW
Date to be announced – 2023

The Kangaroo Valley show includes traditional competitions such as the Dairy and Beef judging; Show Jumping, the Horse Class Judging , the Poultry Pavilion, the Wood Chopping, the Champion Dog Show and of course The Grand Parade. There are favourites such as the Children’s Bicycle races, Pet shows, Dog Races, Tug o’ War and talent shows.
