Designed to accommodate intimate, bespoke and corporate equine experiences, Archies will be the centrepiece of barranca. Named after beloved shire horse, the late, Cedars Archibold, the new equine centre will be a family passion bought to life. Soon to be complete, we just had to share a sneak peek…
Architecturally designed, with views of the sweeping escarpment and breathtaking Australia bush, Archies will facilitate our Equine Program which has been developed over the last 20 years. This stunning location and the horses provide a harmonious union to support the program which is a collaboration between barranca, The Cedars Shire Horse Stud and Flying Change Leadership. Participants will be encouraged to embrace the nature and behaviour of horses and watch how horses mirror human behaviour. This is the way our equine program helps guests learn to improve their communication skills and confidence.
Each bespoke Equine workshop at Archies is led by professional horse trainer, riding instructor, and mentor, Scott Brodie, who has over 30 years of classical training and professional horsemanship along with 40 years of coaching experience. (Scott is pictured below with the pioneer of barranca Equine, Helene Scarf, who founded the neighbouring stud.) Scott’s expertise, teamed with the docile and calming nature of barranca’s Shire horses, means the training program is very easily learned with little or no prior horse experience.
Some of the skills taught in barranca‘s Equine Executive program relate to day-to-day life skills and attitudes, including:
Reading and interpreting body language
Utilising body language as a means of communication
Problem-solving and calm decision making
Patience and anger control
